Green Cargo Selects Ab Ovo and Quintiq to Provide Planning and Scheduling Solution

'S-HERTOGENBOSCH, the Netherlands, February 16 /PRNewswire/ --

- Technology Provider Quintiq and Dutch IT Rail Specialist Ab Ovo win
Another Major Contract in the European Rail Industry

Quintiq and Ab Ovo today announced that Swedish national rail freight
company Green Cargo will use Quintiq's Advanced Planning & Scheduling
technology to integrate the planning and scheduling of their 433 locomotives,
750 shunters and 950 drivers. IT rail specialist Ab Ovo will, in cooperation
with RiiPlan, conduct the implementation.

Green Cargo was looking for an integrated advanced planning solution
which would optimally schedule both its rolling stock and crews in one single
application. After a thorough selection process Green Cargo decided to select
Ab Ovo and Quintiq for the solution. One of the key benefits of the solution
is the possibility to take all rules and restrictions (e.g. route knowledge
and certification of individual drivers, track access and unit compatibility,
labor regulations and driver salary components) into account. Also the
ability to work with real time data and scenario planning as well as the full
integration of the solution with Green Cargo's IT landscape and the national
rail infrastructure organization's time table system were key decision
factors. "To reach our goals for resource utilization, we decided to
implement an integrated advanced planning solution which would optimally
schedule both our rolling stock and crews in a single application. Quintiq
has solutions to all our demands", says Green Cargo's CIO Björn Rosell.

Ab Ovo has a wide experience in developing and implementing IT solutions
in the rail industry. Because of Ab Ovo's specific rail business knowledge
they are able to fit the solution to the specific needs of each rail operator
in the most efficient way. Quintiq and Ab Ovo share a long history together
in the rail industry. After Railion Netherlands, Railion Denmark, Railion
Germany and FirstGroup, Green Cargo is already the fifth leading European
rail operator deploying a rail planning solution from Quintiq and Ab Ovo.
