Spirent Selects Endace for High Speed Ethernet Technology

CHANTILLY, Virginia, February 23 /PRNewswire/ --

- High speed solutions to be integral part of Spirent's Ethernet Service
Assurance portfolio

Endace Limited (LSE/AIM: EDA), a recognized developer of high speed
packet capture networking technology, today announced a technology
partnership with Spirent Communications (LSE: SPT) to develop the next
generation of high speed service assurance probes, used by service providers
to ensure quality of service on their networks. Spirent has a strong
reputation in the fast-growing field of Ethernet Service Assurance, enabling
service providers to verify revenue-generating IP-based services and their
underlying network infrastructure.

"We enable service providers to better track customers' service level
agreements and provide immediate and actionable status information about
their networks," remarked Sean Yarborough, Director of Marketing - Strategy
and Business Development at Spirent. "Our Quality of Service Probes are the
de facto standard used by service providers to confirm their IP networks can
meet exacting service level agreements. This partnership with Endace helps us
to develop higher-speed probes that will meet the growth in network bandwidth
and utilization."

While the need for Ethernet services has grown quickly, the management of
these multi-vendor IP networks has become more complex. With no standardized
approach to IP service management, operators have lacked end-to-end
visibility of Ethernet services and been challenged to provide faster
troubleshooting and resolution. These problems are compounded as network
loading increases and backhaul speeds scale accordingly.

"Spirent is the natural choice for any operator that has been challenged
with the monitoring and measurement of next generation IP networks," said
Stephen Gleave, VP Marketing at Endace. "When Spirent approached us to
develop technology for their next generation of Ethernet Assurance probes, it
was immediately obvious that this would be a logical fit for Endace's high
speed, lossless packet capture solutions."
