HP Selects Borland Open Application Lifecycle Management as a Standard

AUSTIN, Texas, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ: BORL) (http://www.borland.com), the
global leader in Open Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), today announced
HP will include Borland's Open ALM portfolio of products such as Borland(R)
StarTeam(R), Borland(R) CaliberRM(TM), and Borland(R) Together(R) in its
software delivery infrastructure. This further strengthens the partnership
originally formed between Borland and Electronic Data Systems (EDS), which HP
acquired August 26, 2008.

In addition to using Borland's ALM products internally, the agreement
provides HP the opportunity to resell Borland's portfolio and use the
products to deliver application development services to clients around the
world.

"We're pleased that Borland will continue its strategic role in helping
HP deliver world-class software and services," said Erik Prusch, acting
president and CEO of Borland. "HP is known for its innovation and high
quality products, and Borland's technology helps them capture requirements,
manage change, and deliver software reliably on a global scale. Borland
technology drives efficiency, visibility and control within software projects
and delivers returns on investment that are unmatched in the industry."
