Security Trade Sees the Future of Access Control at IFSEC 2009
BRIGHTON, England, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- UK Access Control Manufacturer Sensor Access Technology Receives an
Enthusiastic Reception for its New IP Hosted Access Control Product
GuardPointNET at Security Trade Show IFSEC Held in Birmingham UK this week.
Visitors to Sensor Access Technology's stand at IFSEC this week were
treated to a demonstration of the power and versatility of the new wave of
Access Control products which the manufacturer has just launched to the UK
and European market.
"Judging by the reaction from the trade, this is a product which will
take Access Control in this country by storm" said Ahmed Abbas, Sensor's
Sales Director. "There was an extremely enthusiastic response from the trade
at IFSEC, and we are now following up on lots of firm leads from companies
both in the UK and overseas who have clients lined up who wish to take
advantage of this new technology".
Abbas has been supplying access control solutions for many years, but is
a firm advocate of not only the versatility that IP distribution can bring,
but also the Software as a Service model which the hosted version offers. "It
is not just the fact that your data is held securely off-site", he explains,
"but add to that the possibility of controlling not just one but thousands of
doors across a multitude of sites from any web browser, and you start to get
the idea of the possibilities this system brings."
At the heart of the hosted system is a powerful Oracle database which is
held on diverse secure servers for redundancy and security, and which
communicates with door controllers within the building via a 128bit secure
connection. The software supports multiple logins with access credentials, a
partitioned database access, plus a full audit trail of administrative
actions. Third-party security applications are supported via an open
application programming interface (API), which allows developers or IT
departments to easily integrate their own systems, such as time and
attendance, to the access control infrastructure.
The product is new to the UK and Abbas is expecting a high demand
especially from sites which have multiple buildings, such as hospitals,
universities and airports. Meanwhile the first orders for GuardPointNET have
now been placed through existing Sensor integrator partners CSS Total
Security of Southampton (http://www.css-security.co.uk), and Full Stop Fire &
Security of Exeter (http://www.fullstopuk.com)
In their tenth successful year, Sensor Access Technology Ltd is a UK
manufacturer of high end integrated access control solutions. The systems are
fully supported and cover simple to complex installations controlled via the
intuitive GuardPointPro (LAN)(TM) or GuardPointNet (IP)(TM) software. Sensor
Access distributes worldwide through an approved installer partner network.
