Its still a beta. Come on.
Yes, it currently kinda sucks. Yes, its pretty boring. Yes, Sony has yet to deliver what they promised, like video sharing. But its not as if were looking at the final product.
And for what Home currently is -- its amazing.
Most gamers are accustomed to Xbox Live. So, if you were a dev team at Sony, and you were tasked with creating a community that blew Live out of the water... what would you come up with? How about a 3 dimensional interactive world?
Im disappointed in Home for the same reasons as a lot of people. But I cant deny its a cool idea, and has a lot of potential. Until then, its still very much an unfinished product.

The public had been starving for a new way to socialize online, and with the promise of endless entertainment and customization, Sony gave us Playstation Home.
This is a bit like giving a man whos starving to death grape vine seeds. Its a gift that has all the potential in the world to exceed his needs, but so little effort was put into it that itll never get off the ground.
Entertainment value is 0, and undeserving of even this 1 star that my review forces me to give. But lets be honest, this isnt about entertainment, no. Home, need we be reminded, is not a game. Its a network. A place to meet and commune.
Tasks which are made excpetionally hard and unenjoyable by endless stream of corperate spam being thrown in your face (because this is what happens when a marketing department makes a 3D enviroment) as well as the fact that theyve removed any and all features that might be helpful to the average player. One such feature is "Quick Text", as shown to us in the Closed Beta videos. Quick Text would have allowed us to string together sentances from phrases, but sadly, the feature was removed from the open beta.
The also removed the voice chat options from the public areas, untill they could figure out a way to censor foul mouths. -- Here it is 6 months later, and were still muted.
Sony hyped up the public with a lot of empty promises and blatent lies, only so that they could fail to deliver when it mattered (or in the 6 months following when it mattered).
So far as anyone can tell, Sony, like most of its players, have abandoned the project. The only updates that come out are new zones with a spam to fun ratio of about 140:0 -- no new default clothes. No new furnature, abilities, or ANY of what they promised us in the closed beta.
This is, without a doubt, easily one of the worst products of all time -- Im thankful every time I see the Icon on my PS3 that I didnt have to pay for horrible service.
I find it quite boring. It has/had lots of potential....but it comes off as slow and boring. Plus there are too many kids that do stupid stuff.
Besides, there is something spooky about paying money for fake clothes and furniture and meeting people in a fake world.
who cares if you were involved with the beta ... if you were really that involved you would have told sony home blows and do something different with it. I personally would be ashamed of being part of some sort of closed beta and ended up the way it did.
i walked around for 5 minutes ... turned it off and played pain instead.
why do i mention pain? its a very very simple game ... and has hours and hours of entertainment ... and its 10 bucks heh.
you could spend 10 bucks in home ahd have what? furniture? lol what a joke.
be honest ..give it 1 star.
The running theme for PS3 is "could be cool". I have been involved in the whole closed beta process and am impressed with what is there so far, but charging people for furniture so they can add it to a fake house that no one sees is a little silly.
Sony says the whole project is based on feedback in the forums. Lets see how closely they are reading peoples criticisms.
You get a good laugh when you change your avatar to a female.
Theres nothing in it thats exciting and a must play but the fact that its free and only in beta gives it a positive rating and room for huge improvement.
