yes, it will repair damage to your DirectShow filters.
K-lite is a kludge at best... it "works" but it doesn't work as well as it ought

generating thumbnails requires VRM9 windowless

Attempting to "save thumbnails" as either BMP or JPG crashes player no matter which DirectShow mode is selected in options :(
