This is excellent software for system builders and overclockers.

You mean for DVD or for AVI?? I haven't tried this software, but I suspect you just have to import the text subtitles and then generate a subtitle stream. Don't forget the video has to be mpeg-2 for a DVD, so you will have to encode it.

For the AVI, just download mkvtoolnix and create a .mkv file with mkvmerge GUI. It will have soft subs which means you can toggle them on and off just like a DVD.

This is an excellent library! You can encode in DVD quality at a fraction of the size. Only downside is that it requires a lot of CPU power.

Excellent piece of software for the Beginner. It gives a great deal of freedom and is incredibly easy to use. It allows you to make very nice Menus fast and easy. I don't recommend this for commercial (Hollywood) applications as it does not give you complete control over a DVD, but it is great for authoring independent projects and professional looking Home movies and such.
