Throw out DVD X COPY Platinum!! DVD Shrink is by far the best program out there for backing up your DVDs. It is easy to use, works great, small in size (mb), and is absolutely FREE!! It also has backed up several movies that DVD X COPY wouldn't. Just make sure that you have a newer DVD player that plays DVD+/-R discs and you should not have any problems. If you are using an older DVD player then your movies might not play.
