I normally use DVD Fab Platinum to convert my movies to .avi. Several people said Auto GK was "good" so I tried it. It took about the same time as DVD Fab to copy/convert my movie. The video quality was decent. But the audio was not sync'd to the video. The software doesn't show the progress of the conversion, and the instructions for starting the software are not as clear as DVD Fab. ImTOO DVD Ripper had the same sync problem, but the latest update seems to have fixed that. I think I'll pass on AutoGK.

It appears that you have to select each file on a DVD individually to convert. I didn't find an option to convert the entire DVD. To test I selected one file of the DVD. The software stopped working. I closed the program and started over. The software stopped working. I went to the online help and followed their directions. The software stopped working. I uninstalled the software. I will continue using Im TOO DVD software with all its imperfections. They have good tech support. But I'm still open to suggestions for a better conversion from DVD to divX software.
I downloaded from the Afterdawn site after reading how to use the software. After selecting the source drive and destination folder, I clicked the start icon. It looked like it was starting for about 10, then it gave an error message and closed the program. I tried this twice. I then uninstalled the program using Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel. I doubled checked my program files for the .exe file. It was still there. I downloaded the v 1.5 from their site. I installed it and tried to run it. It locked up my computer. I removed my DVD and shut down the computer. I tried again. Same thing. I rebooted and uninstalled the software. Now there were still 2 .exe files in my Programs folder. I removed them. I have read other reviews on the ShrinkTo5 site. It seems that most reviewers couldn't get it to work either. I'm back to DVD Decrypter and I'm still trying to figure out how DVD Shrink works.
