WinAMP for Linux Alpha 1

RPM only, bad. alien doesnt quite move it over well enough to work under ubuntu, as it calls for many .so files that are simply redhat/fedora/outdated/alternative versions of files i already have... I don't want to spend the time making symbolic links to the shared objects just to see a peice of software marked alpha 0.01... for now, rythmbox with an mp3 gstreamer plugin will have to work.

I am however, looking forward to this becoming a reality on debian, or some other easy to use linux distro :D

I downloaded the file and when I tried to install it it said the file was not supported.

What am I doing wrong?

WinAMP for Linux alpha 1

My PC is running under Linux/SuSE v9.x.

Yast does do the .rpm install, but I can't find the menu item or any link whatsoever to invoke LinAmp (that's the name I would prefer).

All in all : it doesn't work

I've managed to play a file. But there is an error with drawing windows, the responding is very very slow, and seeking doesn't work. I hope some day it will work like winamp 5.2 pro for windows. And I hope visualizations will be avaliable also for Linux version of Winamp.

Currently it doesnt work...

what I am getting when I play a song is it bassically fast forwards through the song... I do look forward to the day they come out with a version that works though...
