Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Zoom Player Standard is a very good multimedia player that boasts huge range of features, such as zooming, DVDs (MPEG-2 codec isn't bundled due licensing restrictions, but if you have a commercial DVD software such as WinDVD or PowerDVD, ZP can use its codec) and DVD menus, playlists, aspect ratios, subtitles, OGM videos, CD auto-play, etc.

The most configurable media player available for Windows. Recently available (since v5) with Inmatrix' "Install Center", which allows you to download AND install all popular and important codecs and filters with ONE CLICK, automatically selecting those outdated or missing from your system. This software includes literally HUNDREDS of config options absent from others, and has been my media player of choice for over 3 years. If you like to have lots of control options for your music and video player, you should definitely check out Zoom Player.

  Zoom Player Standard v5.00 Preview 7

I only rated this very poor because I couldn't get it to work properly. I will of course try to play a little more around with it, though I doubt that it will make a difference what I do. It may work for others, but it crashes a little too often. I only wish that this were not a preview file, but the stable version. I can only hope that their problems will be fixed in the next update.
