With Yawcam it is possible to observe your web camera, take snapshots or stream the video to the internet. With the built-in HTTP-server you can upload your snapshots or stream your video to the web using your own computer as a server.
You can also use your web camera as a surveillance camera, taking snapshots everytime something moves in the camera's sight. Yawcam is customizable, and from the preferences you can adjust most of the features of the program. It's easy to just minimize Yawcam to the taskbar when not in use.
Yawcam is programmed in Java, but requires Windows 2000, XP or Vista with DirectX 9 and Windows Media Player 9 or later. There are translations available for several languages which can be easily installed or modified.
