LightTek's IconTOY application can extract icons from files, such as executable files (EXE), DLL files, BMP files, ICO and more. It will search entire hard drives and display all the icons. Then you can either copy a particularicon to the clipboard or save it as an single icon (ico) or bitmap (bmp) file.
It also can be used to save a found (large) icon or BMP file as the Destkop background, centred or tiled based on user preference.
Note: IconTOY is a shareware utility. The download will provide a 30-day functional trial, but to unlock the program fully, you will need to buy a license.
