Private Pad is a useful privacy-focused text editor that will encrypt all your documents and can encrypt files.

All of your documents can be saved as encrypted files using Blowfish or AES standards which are next to impossible to break. Only you know the password (so don''t forget it!) to access your own private writing.

In addition to encrypting the text documents you edit, it will also encrypt any files you drag into the interface. For example, you can encrypt pictures and videos.

If you are using it to keep a list of passwords, there is a handy key generator that can generate super random passwords.

If you choose to encrypt a document, you can choose to destroy (overwrite beyond recovery) the original unencrypted version in case it could be recovered later.
