My machine have only PCI slots (and 1 PCI-E 1x) so a PCI card was obvious choice.Pros:- Very easy to install (whole process took less than 5 minutes)- Decent performance for my old machine- Supports 2 monitors- Boosted my Vista Experience score (for 3D) from 1.0 to 2.9- Vista Aero features now run flawlessly on my machine (they would not run on older card).- Vista installed drivers automatically (I had to do nothing as far as device drivers are concerned)- Movies and Pictures look a bit better (more sharper with better colors)- Very competitive priceCons:- Absolutely none so farThis card thou does not seem to be powerful enough to run modern games, older games should be fine.Definitely recommended for home users who cannot upgrade to PCI-E cards. Update: Feb 2010I updated to Windows 7 few months back and this card is actually performing even better in Windows 7. For some reason after install, windows experience score (for 3d) came down to 1.0 but after few days and a windows update the score was boosted to 3.0. I am more than satisfied with this cards performance on windows 7 ..

What Psolord said Also, even being an nvidia fan, i call this exanalption from nvidia BS. o_O Yes, yes, high performance stuff requires extreme cooling and stuff (just take a look at some rack-based servers), but come on, this is meant to be for home users Or do i need a separate room in my house for the two gaming PCs we have to provide optimal cooling and acceptable sound levels? (Water cooling is not so popular for a reason )

I can see where you would have issue with that broad statement. But I think our opiinon is very solid in the conclusion. It is not worth the extra $300 to get a few more frames in a couple of games and less IQ in others. I have 580 SLI in my personal box and think it is a great thing. The fact is that NONE of these are a bad solution. AMD looks to be a better VALUE to us at this time.

Excellent review. Its an instreteing story when you look the picture as a whole. I just find it hard to believe Nvidia does look at reviews like this and say to themselves "lets put more memory on these cards and lower the price and well crush AMD". Well they wouldnt crush AMD but it sure would make people think a lot harder about their purchase choice if the price was lower.Anyone seen an single card eyefinity Benchmarks?

Shynn, of course GPU-Z is not fake, those are the scrhenseots from a 590 and tally up with the latest from hundreds of websites reporting the same specs.A dual-GPU design will always clock less than a single GPu due to the excess heat of an enclosed space as with all dual-GPU that have ever existed. Thats why based on performance and overclocking your better off buying two 580s unless anyone has had issues running SLI.

(Electronics) I ordered this nobteook after having spent a while looking for alternatives to my slowly dieing windows laptop. It greatly outperforms it (of course) and I have to say that so far I have not been disappointed with it. I got it within a few days of ordering and it was easy to track online.
