The original Direct Connect is an unique file sharing tool, based on chatroom-like sharing communities called hubs. In the hubs users can chat, browse each others files and share them.
DC++ is a fully Direct Connect compatible alternative client. It offers more functions, like ability to connect to multible hubs, and a more efficient GUI.
This great piece of work has more or less replaced the original DC client. Highly recommended.
DC++ Portable is a binary archive that can be unzipped anywhere and usable right away (portable version, without any shortcuts or registry information created).
