This little program is a must have, when you are on the net. I always have it running, so it starts with windows. <br/>I have never had any real problem with it, just see to its always running. At this moment mine is blocking <br/>764.378.450 IPs. So that what it is, an IP blocker. And its updated every day. <br/>Many Thanks For This One. Highly recommended.

The Program "PeerGuadian for Windows 2000/XP/2003 is dangerous. While attempting to download the software, Windows XP warned me of danger and stopped the download. Foolishly I ignored the warning, and continued anyway. Next my virus program alerted me that the program contained a Trojan type Virus and haulted the download. Although the program was not installed ,it did damage my operating system while attempting to download.The file ndis.sys caused the BSOD to appear while my Windows XP operating system crashed! The error reported: "an attempt was made to write to Read Only Memory". Avoid this program and save hours of repair work on your OS (PS. there should be another choice in rating software/programs--Dangerous)...."What Man Has Done , Man Can Do" <br/>I AM. (rale0n)

Pretty decent. I was a bigger fan of it back in the days when methlabs had it. I didn't give t a 5 because that would meant it would have to be outstanding, and since I am not sure if it's actually going to save my a$$ if the RIAA comes after me, I can't give it a 5. But since it does do what they say it does, which is block IP's that could be looking for me, I give it a 4. Oh, and it doesn't eat up too many system resources.

I dont know about the rest of you , but I am NOT supporting any new releases until the original founders of methlabs regain control of PG2 or release an alternative. No, I'm not too paranoid to use the current lists, in the hands of the "new" admins, but, its the principal of the matter. For now, I am using the bluetack lists in PG2. "They" really hurt the reputation of a great app with "their" actions. Shame.

An excellent idea. It may not save you completely, but it is a great idea to block all the ip addresses that could be looking to make you there next "victim". But please remember to have a firewall as well!

Wow. Make sure to delete your lists in your Peerguardian folder and then do an update. It wasn't updating right for me with this update until i did that. Still top notch though!

brockie: the manual says clearly that McAfee does not work with the application. this is a bug in mcafee, not peerguardian

we recommend outpost and sygate, both have excellent free editions and they are definately better than mcafee!

I put this software on my computer and it messed up my Mcafee firewall it would not work along side it. The website that made the programe said it would in the feq Questions part of there website so its no good in my eyes fix up brov.

Nearly a billion IPs can be blocked and the update is very easy over blocklist.org. However, given the situation that blocklist.org is being pummeled with heavy traffic, you should download Methlab's block list at <a href="http://www.methlabs.org/sync" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.methlabs.org/sync</a> -- but for now, the beta is nearly bugfree, except for a few problems I found that very few can find. UDP Packet support is also here, and whenever a site is blocked, it will show how they are trying to connect to you, or how you are trying to connect to them.
