Tried updating the included AV for the first time after installing the "Commode-OH" firewall (cant install the firewall only w/o the AV,which crashed my OS (WinXPPro) every single time after finished downloading then when installing "updates"!!

After using the uninstaller, discovered to my dismay that it left behind registry entries and scanner tools that could NOT be deleted w/o crashing the OS repeatedly. Eventually was forced to save some of my data then reinstalled the entire OS just to get rid of every trace of "Commode-Oh". Wish I had backed up my data BEFORE installing this garbage software.

For a free firewall, Comodo is hard to beat. Zonealarm has it's advantages but it conflicts with too many programs - Zonealarm is slightly buggy. I have never had a conflict with Comodo and, it has an easy learning curve. I have an easier time selectively blocking specific programs, and they never ask again. <br/>And, Comodo has never crashed my system...like Zonealarm did from time to time.

i have been using this firewall now for about a year and it is the best one i have ever used.because A. its free and B. it offers really good security. yes it does get a little annoying at first when you install it but that will go away quick and you will not even notice it running after a couple of days.

The security aspect seemed to be overly aggressive. When I was installing or uninstalling other programs I got annoying frequent popups that had to be clicked to finish the job. Finally uninstalled and went to ZoneAlarm. Any other firewall that comes highly recommended?

I reinstall this and it works fine now. <br/> <br/>I re-vote this from 1 to 5. <br/> <br/>I wasn't aware that you have to let it install without doing anything. I was doing something and it crashed. <br/> <br/>So don't do anything until the whole install is fully completed.

Great firewall but only for 32bit OS. Ditto, for McAfee Internet security. Come on programmers lets catch-up!!!!
