NirSoft Password Security Scanner v1.10

Password Security Scanner from NirSoft is a freeware utility that can retrieve some information about passwords stored in popular Windows applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

The tool does not extract the passwords themselves, but gives an indication of what types of characters they consist of. It can tell the number of characters, number of numeric characters, number of lowercase and uppercase characters, number of repeating characters and gives an indication of password strength.

The idea behind the tool is that you can confirm the strength of another user's passwords without actually seeing them. The strongest passwords would contain a mix of characters, numbers and uppercase/lowercase characters that might appear random to somebody else.

The tool works on all versions of Windows from Windows 2000 onward, and will add more third party application support in future releases.
