Wipe Bad Disk is a tool that can be used to wipe the contents on a disk filled with bad sectors.
Some disk destruction tools have trouble dealing with areas plagued by bad sectors and so can fail, or ignore them completely potentially leaving recoverable sensitive data behind.
WBD wipes the disk through 3 stages(stage 0-stage 2), 16 passes, and multiple levels, resulting in a new security-degree to time-cost relationship(see the figure below) in contrast to the linear functional relationship of traditional disk shredding software.
NOTE: Technically this is shareware as there is a personal license requirement, but the latest versions of it make it possible to use it for free too.
