Changes for v1.3.0.6 - v1.3.0.7

  • Added: buttonSubtitleMenuX and buttonAudioMenuX button types that jump to a title's audio or button menu directly.
  • Changed: Removed "High" encoding priority setting. It is not useful anyway (no speed gain, only chokes other processes).
  • Changed: Updated FFmpeg to revision 19276.

  • Added: Option to specify the amount of threads FFMPEG uses. This is set to the number of logical CPUs by default. Multi-core and (less so) HyperThreading CPUs will get a significant speed boost from this when encoding video.
  • Added: Detects iTunes DRM encrypted files and says they cannot be encoded.
  • Added: Options to select what should be done when a title has finished playing, as well as whether or not to loop the DVD's playback.

  • Changed: No more "official" support for VOB files. Because of a limitation of the MPEG-TS file format it is not easily possible to calculate the duration of a VOB file, thus all calculations which need this are completely wrong and odd results can happen. An "import DVD" feature is still planned for some later version.



Changes for v1.2.0 RC 3 - v1.2.0 RC 4

  • Fixed: Keep encoded files and Two-pass encoding options were not remembered when pressing Use as defaults. Thanks to Guy Sturgis.

  • Fixed: If the IMAPI burning COM service was disabled, DVD Flick would display an error and refuse to load.
  • Fixed: Combinging files larger than 2 Gb is now also supported.
  • Fixed: Disc space meter was not filled if a custom video bitrate was selected.
  • Fixed: Video was not encoded at the full requested bitrate, which meant bad quality and finished discs would never be the target size. There should be a significant quality improvement.
  • Fixed: Crash when trying to load unsupported filetypes.
  • Fixed: FFMPEG's 2-pass encoding log files are now put into the project's destination folder.
  • Changed: Dropped IMAPI CD\DVD burner detection in favour of parsing WMI PNP strings. Fixes 'Failed to instantiate CDBurn implementation' error as well as make it possible to enumerate recorders on Windows 2000.
