Connected my laptop to a Sony TV. I see the laptop picture but not any video played with any type of media player.
problem must be a setting with that specific laptop. I can connect my other laptop which works fine. The problem started only 3 days ago. Some update must have changed a setting on my laptop.I have the laptop set to display the picture simultaneously on the laptop and the TV. The laptop picture shows the video picture but not the TV. Bot devices are connected with a monitor cable. Which setting do I have to change on my laptop to make the video picture visible on my TV? Thanks

Most probably a setting in the graphic card has changed assuming media player can be seen on laptop & not tv unless a reboot is required while tv is connected.Other option is set up extended desktop so taskbar is on lappy & tv has only wallpaper you can then drag media player over to tv while keeping lappy free to surf
