I found out on Internet forums that it is caused by a damaged screen or a damaged bus cable. So; here is my question- do I have to change the data bus cable for $3.45 (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/repair-parts-replacement-bus-wire-for-nds-15855) or change the whole screen.

I think that I only need to change the cable because I noticed that it appeared to be damaged. The screen works fine, but only has a red or blue tint.
