As DVD-Video specs allow to use the same MPEG-1 encoding and same resolution as VCD natively uses, converting a VCD to a DVD is relatively easy.

Basically the only issue you should be worried about is the audio, as the VCD's audio frequency is different from DVD's audio frequency and therefor has to be re-encoded again. For this procedure, please read through our VCD to DVD guide.

After that, the video and audio are in DVD format and should be authored to a DVD-Video format. Instructions for very basic authoring of a DVD-Video, please read the relevant part from our AVI to DVD guide.
