If you have obtained a .ratDVD file then you have a file created with the software ratDVD. ratDVD can compress an entire DVD movie to one single file including menus with full functionality, all extras, all audio tracks, all angles and any other material on the disc. Of course, it is up to the user what parts of the DVD to keep and what not to. The result .ratDVD file is usually several gigabytes smaller. If you have obtained a .ratDVD file, you need to install ratDVD on a Windows 2000 or Windows XP Operating System to view it. ratDVD is freeware.

Once ratDVD is installed you will be able to open thesde files with Windows Media Player. Media Player Classic is also recommended for playing back these files.
