How to copy old iphone contacts to my new iPhone?

My old iphone is a 3G and my new one will be an iPhone 5 once it becomes available.

I would use the iCloud. If your old iPhone does not support the iCloud, use a Google account (Google sync your contacts) or a third party program such as: http://www.copytrans.net/iphone-contacts.php

Where are you getting the new phone?? They usually do service like this when you purchase.

Your iTunes does a copy of contacts if you tell it to do so. Download the latest version and connect your 3G to it. Once your next iPhone than just connect that to your iTunes and send back the contacts to the new iPhone.

I believe that works.
