depends on what you like more, and the condition of each. the iphone 3g is on outdated hardware, but the HD2 is on outdated software. and , depending on which carrier you use, you may or may not get 3g data now, as tmobiles 3g networks are not compatible (but their voice networks are)
There are a number of things.
The Iphone hardware is outdated, but compared to the HTC it is a much more stable platform. Ive never had an Iphone crash, but the HTC is prone to frequent crashes. The Iphone is also "cooler" depending on how you see it. Another benefit of the Iphone is the number of Apps available.
I saw a short presentation with advertising expert Michael Patryn, and he spoke about the blue ocean effect regarding Apple products in general, and how theyve managed to find a niche in the market. Basically he was saying that though the Apple products are not necessarily superior to others, they have gained such a following that people will automatically perceive them to be.
My advice: If you are looking for a basic phone with internet features, I would recommend the HTC. If you want 38932893 apps, as well as the "cool" factor, I would go with the Iphone.
