I am trying to learn something about power supplies for pcs. No problem with desktops, but what about all in ones and laptops?

All in ones and laptops typically have their power supplies OUTSIDE the unit. That is why they typically accept DC input only. The DC power is then dropped down and distributed to the various components inside the device.

Your question was kind of vague so thats why my answer is vague.
