I have 2 computers 1 is a desktop with vist and the other is a laptop with win 7 is it better to switch both to win 8 or the desktop to win 7
both of them are able to be upgraded

You can always set them both up as dual boot computers with Win 7 and Win 8.

Yes, you could dual boot as suggested. Personally, from what I have read, 8 could be the new Vista. Go with 7 on both. Research 8 more on your own and then choose.
