I have tried to turn CC off on my tv(sony Bravia)but it wont go off it still appears on the screen. What can I do

If following the onscreen prompts or the directions in the owners manual fail, call Sony. Probably will not be effective, but you can bitch them out at least.

Does your tv use a built in tuner or external, or are you using a dvd player, maybe you have the cc turned on with the device you are using and that's why you can't turn it off on your tv
