An update for WHAT??

Sit down, compose your thoughts, and take this to a Forum post. Your question as posted will only get snarky replies.

I am guessing its some kind of OS update?!?!
Because if its for a program I dont think you would get a weird screen most probably the only problem would be that program being updates would not work properly.
Id say do a safe boot and reload your OS to a previous working time. Say maybe the day before and then you should be sweet. But like rulisky said what you wrote gives us no clues on what your exact problem is.
