My computer suddenly stopped reading & burning DVDs but CDs r ok. Have uninstalled driver but still doesnt work. Any suggestions? Reasons why? Help?

have you cleaned the lens??? sounds like the drive is failing or starting to fail

New burners are fairly cheap. And easy to install. Repairs beyond lens cleaning are probably not cost effective.
