external or internal hard drive?

I might take some time to format a harddrive using a laptop.

Make sure it does not time out or shut down while doing. DISABLE any shut down or power down under your Power Management settings.

Then try to format the harddrive again.

IF THECOMPUTER POWER FAILS DURING THE FORMAT, THE DISC DRVE WILL BE UN-USEABLE UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THE FORMAT, AND AND AND PUT AN OPERATING SYSTEM ON IT.ALSO IF YOU ARE LEARNING ABOUT COMPUTERS ITS IMPORTANT TO STUDY EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK, AND AND BURN UP SEVERAL COMPUTERS DURING YOUR TRAINING , I CERTAINTLY DID

Were you formatting it for an operating system for a fresh install? Or were you formatting from within the operating system for a storage drive? As other have asked, why fat32?
