I would suggest looking for (Google) an adapter for firewire to usb, or firewire to hdmi, or s video to usb, or s video to hdmi.

Are they any good? Ask who, because who knows. Anyway, what other choice do you have?

I have tried firewire to usb adapter, there is no slot for a card on my laptop. I looked for an ethernet adapter. but after searching the web it appears usb and firewire use different protocols so that cant work and the ethernet also sounds no good so what I am going to do is download to my PC and put the video on a stick.I work away during the week so I take the laptop with me Thanks everybody for your help but it seems camcorders are now swithing to USB and I think Mac is stopping firewire

Anyway thanks again for your time all
