My ps3 detects HDMI cables but doesnt output using them.Help?

it works fine on SD plus detects HDMI cables
I tried it with different cables and different TVs as well

When turning on the system, hold the power button down until the ps3 beeps again. if the hdmi cables are connected, then it will auto detect the signal.

Got the same issue with my 360 ended up using component ,the picture looks good,web search seemed to suggest hdmi is hit or miss,personally i think its the graphic card the 360 uses & the age of the tv im using

@etan1085: I tried that it detects HDMI but does not output using it

Plus nothing in the manual and the PS people say its out of warranty so nothing they can do about it

First, read the Manual. Then, call the PS people if that does not help.
