need suggestion on getting a transmitter (for uploads) to use in conjunction with satellite services for rural area! Many thanks!

We can only get dial-up in our rural American area. Upload speeds are around 2.0 - 5.4 at best kbps. Help! We can get Hughes.net - a satellite service, but they only offer fast download speeds - apparently any uploading would still have to go through our land line (phone lines). Any genuine suggestions on how we could purchase a transmitter would be greatly appreciated. (Macintosh computers)

How is cellular service in your area? Cellular companies are into high speed internet maybe that is something you could look into rather than a satelite service.

Where did you hear that uploading will still have to go through your phone line. The Hughes website indicates that internet traffic will travel both ways through the satelite.
