To whom it may concern I am trying to get a 17.GB game onto 1 dvd disc.It is on my external. Is DVD Shrink the right thing to use? Karen
The game is on my external.
It is doubtful if you can compress 17gb to fit on a DL dvd much less a "regular" dvd.
You can try compressing with winrar or zip but -again- it probably will not compress enough.
Burn the files as data to a bdr disc. But you will need a bdr disc burner/reader in order to use the resulting disc. You could keep the files on your external hd. Putting the files on a separate flash drive will be pricey as flash drives of the required size are not cheap.
Yes with a Blue-Ray disc burner and BurnAware Free software for copying to a blank Blue-ray disc. A single layer disc will hold 25GB. It wont fit on a regular blank DVD.You also have to burn it as a data disc like was stated above.
simples - you cant do it on a dvd and dvd shrink only shrinks movie dvds not games and software etc.
winrar will compress it but rarely produces a total file size of more than 5% difference in terms of output.
if you dont have blu-ray discs and a blu-ray burner then you cant burn it to a disc.
