sounds like the laser is mis-aligned, you may have to change it or replace the drive, DVD players get this prob to, wont play discs, genuine ones, if its in warranty, go back to where you bought it,

It will read a burnt disk but not an original store bought movie.When its running it makes a clicking sound and sometimes an icon of a disk will flash on the screen with the mouse pointer.If I open a player(powerDVD)the player will show..."PowerDVD not Responding"I will then have to open the tray & take the movie out to get things back to normal.
