Is this just dvds or is it sound in general like mp3 and avi files too?

If its just your dvds then it might be a codec issue

sounds like a codec issue alright, download vlc a great media player and use that instead ->no codecs required

If its just dvds, try downloaded the free VLC media player to play your dvds. Works great.

mmm Do other sounds play? (noob thing but just making sure)

If it doesnt it could be a driver issue, or possibly your WAV is just turned down all the way. It happens to the best of us ahah.
