Written by Lasse Penttinen @ 23 Sep 2003 11:02 User comments (21)

Ahead releases patches for Nero 5.5 and 6 These updates fix a critical bug which is present in both existing versions of Nero Burning ROM. The bug involves the recent Plextor PX-708A DVD recorder, which did not finalize DVD sessions properly when using Nero.
The updates are available on Nero FTP servers:

For Nero 5.5.10.50: Nero551050Issue5203Patch.exe
and for Nero 6.0.0.15: Nero60015Issue5203Patch.exe

I presume this patch is only if you have the Plextor drive? It's really not very clear.

Not that I am aware of... if you are referring to the patch that adddresses issue 5203 or 5023 (or something like that)... the primary focus of that patch is to re-provide overburning functionality to Nero

hello creaky, their cant be anything wrong with the DVD+RW as i've only, maybe, used it once and that was to burn (VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS) files onto it. (Actually, in just the past few days i've tried the following programs; DVDInfoPro and SuperBlank).

69.11.2005 20:38

I have Nero 6 and I can't burn any DVD's. I have some files on my hard drive that I would love to have on dvd. They are mpg, AVI, and wmv files. Every time I try to burn a dvd I keep getting a error message that reads "unable to create disc structure burn process failed!" I saved the error log that it produced. It does this to every file I have. I have a bran new dvd+-R dl nec drive, xp pro, Nero 6. I can't find anything on the web to fix it pleas help!!!

@nikibilly, paste LAST section of your Nero log, which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======" @WheezyE - same from you pls..

THIS IS A NEW UPDATE Nero releases a major update to its Nero 6 Ultra Edition suite Posted by Seán Byrne on 12 November 2005 - 21:05 - Source: Nero 6 Updates pizzadude, kdshapiro and wsaintcr all used our news submit to let us know that Nero, a well known optical disc recording suite has just released a major update to its Nero 6 Ultra Edition, including the addition of new features. According to their website, to get the Nero PowerPack, the first two packages must be downloaded. Apart from the addition of a Yahoo! Toolbar, there is no mention of what else is new in this version, since no changelog has been released at this time. This major update covers the release of Nero 6.6.0.18 and its Nero Digital encoding suite version 3.1.0.21. Both of these include the Yahoo! Toolbar by default, however the download & installation of this 3rd party add-on is optional. Until Nero releases a changelog for this major update, the only way to find out what has been updated or added is to download and install at least their first two update packages. These can be obtained from their download page here. Feel free to discuss about Nero on our Nero & InCD Burning Software Sub-Forum. http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/12674 yahoo tool bar http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Yahoo_Toolbar.html download page Current version: 6.6.0.18 http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php VERY GOOD NEWS,.Microsoft will update its security tools to detect and remove part of the copy protection tools installed on PCs when some music CDs are played. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/256645

@ creaky, I am sure it is the same file. I can show you the error report too. I went to c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log and then posted the file. I can burn data and audio disks, just not DVD videos. I don't know if I installed something wrong or what. I followed the instructions. Anyway thank you for your help.

you still need to make those changes then...do that and let's have the last section of log again to check...
