FFDShow, uTorrent, BitComet, K-Lite Codec Packs and SmitFraudFix updates

Among the daily software updates on AfterDawn.com and Filepedia.com servers are the five popular items, FFDShow, uTorrent, BitComet, K-lite Codec Packs and SmitFraudFix. FFDShow has long been in our top 5 downloads with 4,749,105 downloads to date. The popular BitTorrent clients BitComet and uTorrent are downloaded quite often, accounting for 1,529,303 and 85,085 downloads respectively at time of writing.

The K-Lite Codec Packs have proven to be a hit and have been updated on our servers today (5 separate updates) and account for about 455,645 overall downloads at time of writing. SmitFraudFix is an excellent anti-malware tool that is constantly updated on Filepedia.com and has been mentioned in this article since it recently flew passed 100,000 downloads (100,733 currently). µTorrent v1.7 Beta Build 1952

Feature: Client ID parsing for Blizzard Downloader
Feature: Now remembers which log settings you had on each run when changed from the logger context menu
Change: display text strings instead of numbers for piece priority
Change: reply with "invalid request" if the webui is queried on the wrong port
Change: RSS filter by episode can specify ending season in addition to episode
Change: bt.graceful_shutdown waits for all cleanup before exiting
Fix: Font size of progress bars in the main listview is the same as the rest of the listview
Fix: fix piece priority display bug (incorrect index)
Fix: Copy Selected Hosts now copies multiple hosts with a carriage return and a newline rather then just a newline
Fix: Crash when clicking in window with torrent and then moving mousewheel outside application

Fix: Log when the UPNP fails on the timeout (20 minutes), and on each timeout retry 3 times as it does at application launch

VirtualDub what a fantastic piece of software!

I'm usually not so keen on codec 'packs'.
I think you're better off just getting the individual codecs you actually need at any particular time.

Too many people get a pack and just press 'install' on everything when you can sometimes end up with conflicts and in any event you don't always need so many.
