Cupertino mayor shows love for new Apple 'Spaceship' building

The Cupertino mayor has said this week that there is little to no chance that city officials will reject Apple's plans to build a new 3.1 million square foot "Spaceship" campus.
Says the mayor: "There is no chance that we're saying no."

Jobs appeared before the city council earlier in the week to show off plans for the new campus that will hold 12,000 employees.

The plans will first have to pass environmental checks and pass a public hearing (likely in 2012). Jobs wants to complete the Spaceship by 2015.

Adds Mayor Wong:

In my mind, one of the city council's most important challenges and accomplishments has been to make sure that companies like apple can grow and thrive. While other cities are struggling ... we can grow.

The building will be four stories, be circular in shape and have a large 150-acre interior courtyard. Apple's new architecture will be in addition to the company's main campus.

You've just answered yourself. Unfortunately, the entire World is ruled by idiots.

Or, thinking it twice, it's not. The alleged leaders are idiots indeed, but then, who actually rule are the corporations behind them. Like Crapple, in this particular case.

I think the design is pretty cool even if its wasting more the 50% of the area in the middle.

Does anyone else smell Scientology here too or is it me? I mean one was based on really shite science fiction, but now that we have actual science... albeit computer science...

It's just getting to be a confusing bit of either jock itch or rectal itch. It rapidly changes between one or the other making it an indecisive choice as to a cure, but definitely no doubt that it is painful.

And does anyone have additional information as to why Steve seems to think he needs a complex (other than the one he already has) that reminds me of the Pentagon? Forgetting the angelic "Calgon take me away" sun breaking the horizon; I mean, this structure has a an overtone that reeks of military involvement. The Pentagon is reported to cover 3.7 mill square feet...

Just saying...

The city council meeting is here:

http://t.co/Mv6DjvJ

during the meeting he basically says that they already have 12k hired, many working in rented buildings around the city.

the video is very hard to watch due to the council leader fawning all over jobbs....

Fawning or lust? Kind of reminds me of the "love in" congress had when Bill Gates visited congress for more Hb1 Visas. Never saw so many knee pad prescriptions flying out the door since the Adult Film awards convention in Vegas a while back.
