Sprint will be only carrier with unlimited data plan for iPhone 5 owners

Sprint will be only carrier with unlimited data plan for iPhone 5 owners According to sources, Sprint will be the only carrier to offer unlimited data for iPhone 5 users.
Sprint currently offers unlimited data plans for Android and RIM products, including Wi-Max 4G, for a flat fee per month.

AT&T and Verizon recently dumped their unlimited plans and now charge for tiered plans, at around $30 for 2GB.

According to Nielsen, the average Android user on Sprint uses just 582 MB of data per month, while AT&T/Verizon iPhone users use just 492 MB.

In the past, AT&T has said that only 5% of their subscribers ever use over 2GB per month, and that unlimited data is unnecessary.

this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard...
no phone use less then gb... My wife got an android phone just after they changed ATT data, we tried the $15 for 200mb cause she is always in WiFi range, we even turn off the network data and background data... $200 dollars charge latter i call then and explained the situation, they said even when everything is off phones use data... this is BS, i personally use less then 2gb most the time even tethering once or twice a month, but be limited just sucks

Yeah...my friend just got a $400 phone bill from AT&T for his aircard due to overages. All the guy does is listen to Youtube videos at work on it. Guy doesn't know what a torrent site is.

I've almost got him convinced to switch to Sprint. Don't think it'll be a problem if they're going to have the iPhone5...he won't give up his iphone.

I have personally never met anyone who uses over 1GB, and all my friends and family have Droid phones. The most I've ever used (as a very active user) was 886 MB.

I just downloaded the new Jane's Addiction video off of VEVO/Youtube. 194 megs. Normally, I wouldn't have even known it was that big just looking at Youtube.

I can easily see how if you use your phone for listening to Youtube for music you could blow your cap in a month.

Now...that's obviously not the smartest way to listen to music, but I figure my buddy who got the big AT&T bill is the typical uninformed Internet user. He had no idea how big all those videos he was listening to were (Youtube doesn't really make it apparent, either).

200MB is pretty much only going to cover basic usage of a smartphone...that does not include anything but very VERY basic web browsing and emails. Not sure I'd even do any kind of GPS with that kind of plan.

When I used to use my mobile as a modem for my laptop, I used to use between 3-5 GB a month. Now, I don't use my mobile as a modem for my laptop much anymore, and still manage to hit about 1-2 GB a month.

If is unnecessary, why get rid of it and piss everyone off? I think getting rid of unlimited was ignorant.

Unfortunately Sprint 4G isn't available in as many cities as some of the other carriers. If you're grandfathered in unlimited, as I am, then good to go and no I'm not with AT&T.

I'd rather have slower Sprint service than an accidental $400 monthly phone bill.
