Galaxy S III to be unveiled at March 22nd event?

Galaxy S III to be unveiled at March 22nd event? The phone had been originally expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2012.
Last week, Samsung admitted it had to delay the launch of its Galaxy S III Android smartphone, but that the launch would be this quarter.

The latest rumor is the device will now get some face time at a special event on March 22nd in France.

If spec leaks are accurate, the device will have a large 4.6-inch 720p multi-touch display, run on Android 4.0 and a 1.8Ghz dual-core Exynos processor, have a 12MP rear camera and 2GB RAM. Each one of the features is practically unheard of in smartphones, currently, especially not together.

Furthermore, Samsung will somehow manage to squeeze all that power into a case that is just 7mm (0.28 inches) thick. Its predecessor is 0.33 inches thick, and the king of smartphones, the iPhone 4S is 0.37 inches.

For now, this all remains speculation, but the rumored specs are surely something to drool over, for now.

Stop making my phone so damn thin. I can sacrifice a mm or 2 for a bigger battery.

Those specs would be beastly. Too bad the US might not see it until Q4 2012.

It sounded like a decent article, until I read the bit about..." king of smartphones, the iPhone 4S...".
Seriously,Andre "The King"? isn't The King supposed to be the best of all, in everything, like processor, performance, camera, price...?

I hope the trend doesn't continue and having to pay 299 for a phone on contract. Eventually we'll see 399 on contract for entry level smartphones.

Maybe he meant most popular as in iPhones sell more than any other android device.

Some may call it overkill, but I consider a dual core vs. quad core spec to be BS. If I am going to upgrade my Vibrant after 2 years (in 6 more months) I fully expect a quad core phone with 4.0. Plus since Samsung / T-Mobile can't upgrade operating systems worth a crap, said quad core phone must already have 4.0 and nothing below. In other words, I will pass on this phone.

Quad core is useless and has no practicality what-so-ever and is a benchmarker ONLY; this phone HAS 4.0 so what's your beef??

If its dual core cortex a15. It's more power efficient and can keep up with quad core and in some cases surpass them easily. Samsung knows how to appease power users.

Haha, it is the king not in performance, but in sales dominance. I am by no means an iFan (owned Android since 1.1), but the numbers speak for themselves in that regard.
