Report: iPhone, iPad Mini event slated for September 12th According to iMore, which has a good track record, Apple will unveil its new iPhone on September 12th, with actual shipment dates starting on the 21st, a Friday.
Additionally, the company will debut the so-called iPad Mini, as well, alongside a new iPod Nano, say the sources, which "have proven accurate in the past."

The iPhone 4S was released on October 4th last year, meaning the new update will debut a little under a year after its predecessor.

Along with the new devices, Apple will give a final presentation for its upcoming iOS 6 operation system, which adds an HD Maps app (one that isn't powered by Google) and the company's new 'Passbook' for mobile payments.

On the hardware side, the next iPhone should include the new 19-pin dock connector, a 4-inch screen, a quad-core processor and LTE support. The iPad Mini will be a scaled down, 7.85-inch version of its older brother, just with no Retina Display.
