Former Intel employee gets three years for stealing design secrets

Former Intel employee Biswamohan Pani has been sentenced to three years in federal prison.
The worker stole hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of design and manufacturing secrets, before hopping ship to major rival AMD.

Furthermore, Pani was given two extra years of probation and fined $17,500.

During his quick tenure at Intel in 2008, the worker stole documents valued at $300 million. Intel detected the robbery and reported it.

AMD fully cooperated with the authorities and did not have any knowledge of the robbery.
