Rumor: iPhone 5 pre-orders to start on September 12 iMore is reporting that Apple will begin pre-orders for the upcoming iPhone 5 on September 12th, the day it is unveiled.
The phone will then hit stores in the U.S. by September 21st.

Most international countries will begin seeing the device the first week of October, likely starting October 5th.

Apple is expected to add a 4-inch screen to the device, along with 4G support, a new 8-pin dock connector, and a quad-core processor.

The Cupertino giant has not confirmed launch date or any details about the phone, including its name.

Besides the processer. Apple seems to be a little behind samsung on hardware. A 4inch screen in the world is android is so 2010.

You assume that all consumers want giant screens.

If not they would have stayed at 3.5in.

i agree that many consumers want giant screen; however, for me, holding a phone like galaxy note next to ear is crazy idea. of course, it is tempting to have a phone/tablet 2-in-1.
i don't know...what i see is that android is still not ready for business environment. if i am given a choice to use a smartphone for business, i would probably choose iphone over anything else in the market now.

Not everyone wants a note size screen but I have asked numerous people about going back to iPhone after having an android phone one of the reasons is always not wanting to go back to a smaller screen. What is too big for a screen? I had an iPhone with Att. Left and went to Android on Verizon bc Att coverage in rural America is horrible in my area with no 3G as Verizon even has 4G LTE in my area now. I thought 4.3 was massive at the time but now they have 4.8 in screens and the phones are still sleek and fit in my pockets easily. Now I admit I saw a guy with a Samsung note to his ear and thought he had a kindle fire or something. Thats too big to me for a phone. 4.8 in is probably about as big as I will go. Apple should have gone a little bigger with their screen.

Not that I want an Apple device, but a larger phone would be a nice addition. I have larger hands & fingers, so mashing little icons (or the wrong ones) is at times kind of a hassle. Half an inch in the over all size doesn't sound 'too' over the top.

But I'm certainly not going to pay the bloated price Apple wants for their pick of the litter. Speaking of which... What was the AT&T phone they had there for a while? The one that really did seem like a tablet/phone combo? Had that device been on another carrier I 'probably' would have scarfed one of those up.

I use my android in a business environment and it works great. The bigger screen is a plus. Same with the customization. But what really sold me on android was my first device the original epic 4g on sprint. The wifi hotspot on teh phone. In the field and in the office where net access is restricted. Its little things that have slowly pushed android so fast. Not only are they in competition with apple but with each other as well.

If a larger screen is all it is offering, I'll skip this one. My 4S is wonderful for now!

WTF? Most if not all smart phones fall with the 4" parameters. As I just stated, I'd like a larger screen, but I'm not spending a fortune for it. And I'm damn sure not going to spend 2x the bread on a CrApple.
