VIDEO: Weird new Xbox One ad touts realism of gameplay

'If it was any more real, it would be real,' claims a new strange ad for Xbox One from Microsoft.
The new advert shows a man washing his face in the bathroom, while having strange flashbacks of Xbox One gameplay and seeing wounds acquired in virtual battles momentarily become real on his body.

The message is easy to get; the Xbox One is so real, that if it were any more real, it would be real - yes, that's actually how the ad puts it.

There was a recent study - though controversial over its use of forum users as subjects - that linked extended gameplay with hallucinations of sorts, so maybe it's not the best time to be showing something like that in an ad. Either way, the ad is strange enough to get people to write about it, so it works.

Check it out.

Not an XBox fanboy or anything, but Sony selling "farrrrr more" than MS? Yeah, they're selling more, but not THAT much more.

For the record, I prefer the PS4, as well...

The PS4 is sold out in Oz till next month... I know people still waiting for theirs..... it would have been a bummer for kids hoping for one at Xmas... not sure if that's any indication.

Not in OZ... the PS4 is only $50 less. Factoring in that Aussies will pay more anyway, it's an indication that either the PS4 is more popular or the XBone is not.... or both.

Do you get a commission for every PS4 sold? Who cares which one sells more. I imagine they are both great gaming systems and people can like whichever one they want to. I see no reason why anyone shouldn't be able to like both.

Still, I have neither yet, but I expect the Xbox One will overtake the PS4 before long. Already sold more in December even at $100 more. Until there a lot more games out, I have no interest in either. My 360 still works great and there is no games yet for the new ones that make me want one yet.

The news is about a video realism in xbox one not selling units I see a lot of comments in this and other forums about the same bs; "PS4 is better","Ps4 is a way better than xbox one",PS4 will crush Xbox one",PS4 live is better than Xbox live","PS4 move is better than kinetic",Ken Kutaragi is handsome and Bill Gates is ugly".
I also remember the lots of comments in the famous Xbox One presentation and how people said that Xbox one will fail in sales due to internet connections issues and restrictions etc...
and now take a look is selling very well.

Too true voyager.

The fact is both consoles are doing very well, especially considering it's all in the initial launch phase.

I'm still not buying - but as per I will buy both - until the 1st revision/slim versions appear prob late next year.
By then both should be coming on well & have a nice big game catalogue worth waiting for ;)
