Asustek to manufacture iPods

The portable audio player Apple iPod is been selling such a big numbers that Apple has signed more hardware vendors in order to keep the supply up to the demand. According to the source, the Taiwan based Asustek will be manufacturing iPods at their plant in China. So far the supplier of iPods has been Inventec and it is presumed that it will continue to supply iPods as well as the re-branded Hewlett-Packard version of the same device.

Asustek Computer has received OEM orders for the iPod mini digital music player from Apple Computer, according to market sources.

The iPod orders will help Asustek in working toward its goal of becoming a key provider of consumer electronics products, the sources noted.
