According to GamesIndustry.biz, sales of the Xbox 360 Elite unit had surged 43 percent during the "bank holiday weekend in the UK," following the recent price cut of the system to GBP 199.
"Sales of Xbox 360 are up 43 percent," says the report. "Essentially, looking at the price, obviously it's the Elite that's done the business with those sales."
The report does say that Sony will most likely put up similar or stronger numbers this week, following the release of the Slim PS3 and the $100 USD price cut on all other models.
In the UK, Microsoft has raised the price of the Arcade model from GBP 129 to 159, and has begun phasing out the Premium model, leaving just the Elite and Arcade.
